a nice day :)

I wasn't really feeling up to taking all 4 of the kids to the park today....But when Tomio called from work just to let me know how perfect of a day it was, I thought we should go anyway. And it really was a nice day :) The kids had LOTS of fun. We even took a picnic lunch.... I mean, look what I got to see at the park today:

And this:

                                               And even some of this:
So it really was a nice day :) SO glad we got out to enjoy it!

No card to share yet today. I have several Christmas presents that I make each year, and I have started on those. My sister does not enjoy scrapping, well at all :I), but she has 6 kids. So I make some pages for each of their albums each year.  I also like to give cards as gifts too, and I have started those as well.

ok, I have some little ones who need to go to bed :) Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had "nice day" too :)

worries and butterfly dreams

Last night Emma went to be a tiny bit early because she missed her nap. She slept fine and then for some reason got up around 10:30. I gave her a bottle like she asked for, but instead of going to sleep like normal, she stayed up....and up. Not crying, just sitting, talking and playing a little. I know, not a big deal, right? But it always starts me secretly panicking....what if Emma gets her nights and days mixed up? what if she never goes to bed on time again?! Of course, with all 4 of my kids, it's never happened. Isolated incidents like that stayed just that. But I still can't help but secretly freak out a little bit until she has a couple proper night's sleep to prove otherwise (so am I the only with these irrational worries? I hope not...)

Ok...so for today's card :) I chose kind of an interesting color combination, but I think it worked out ok :) The background stamp is from Hero Arts. I think it looks "elegant", so it inspired the love-y card. I used background basics: Text-styles for the heart in Old Paper distress ink. That might be my most used set from Papertrey. I used Butterfly Dreams for the butterflies. I debated a long time about getting that set since I already have butterfly kisses. But I am so glad I did! I love it. I wrapped some twine around the heart and slipped a tag made froma Quickutz die onto the twine. I also popped the heart on some pop dots. I added some machine stitching around the edges. I adhered it to a white card base after, that way you don't see the stitching on the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm off to have a day full of homeschooling. I got up early enough to get my laundry and blogging done before we started~yay me :)

little sweet pea

I really don't know how Tomio does it....he's 5 years older than me, but he seems to handle the late nights and early mornings alot better than me lol. When I get up that early I feel like I need to nap with Miss Emma :)....Anyway, I know I've mentioned before some of the cute things Levi says :) And I just had to share the latest one :) it helps me remember for later to put in the albums too... Of course, he is STILL so into Batman. Always drawing pictures of Batman, wearing his costume and watching the show (when allowed :)) So, he was explaing to Leah how Batgirl is actually commsioner's daughter... and I hear him saying "yes--really her dad's the conditioner. The conditioner doesn't think Batman is a bad guy." heehee :) I almost corrected him, but I thought I would leave it just a little bit longer. He already seems to have realized that "fair" doesn't mean "UNfair" and has stopped saying "But that's FAIR! You can't do that!". I have to keep some for a little while longer, right?! :)

Here is a baby card I made. I'm thinking of sending it to my cousin in Virginia. She's due this month, and is not finding out what it is :)

I *LOVE* this little pea pod image from Baby Button Bits. Leah helped me look through my button stash to find the ones that we thought fit best. And the sentiment is  adorable. I used my Polka Dot basics 2 for the background. I don't know why I waited so long to get it! So fun to have all those different choices :) I used Milled Lavendar Distress Ink for the background and the scallop circle. I added some twine to the green buttons and purple to tie them together.

Thanks for popping in! Have a SUPER day!!

early and late mornings

All the big kids were super tired this morning, I think the weekend's late night caught up with them :) I let them all sleep in a little before school, one of the perks of homeschool, right ? Miss Emma, on the other hand, decided she was ready to get up when I was up to get Tomio's breakfast ready...before 6. But, she did at least take a little morning nap after that. During which time, I was able to work on this:
Pretty simple, but I like how it turned out. I really like the way Tumbled Glass distress ink looks on these Hero Arts papers.  I stamped the stripes on the kraft with versmark ink. I stamped the flowers on top in Walnut stain distress ink. The flowers and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink. The background stamps are from Cornish Heritage Farms. I knew I wanted to add some pink pearls, but I didn't have any in a good shade. So, I just colored some with my Copics. Love how easy it is :) I almost added some ribbon to this card, but in the end, I decided to keep really simple :)

Thanks so much stopping by! Even though Tomio had to leave before 6 this morning, he's not going to be back to 10 :( He's exhausted, so I'm getting his favorite meal (curry and rice) ready for him when he gets home. Hope your week is looking bright so far :)

Saturday, October 2

ahhh!

It's already October! I knew this would happen, so  I started working on Halloween costumes back in April...but I still haven't finished. I'm just glad that all of them still want to be the same thing they decided back then :) I really have made progress though, so there's still hope that they will be done in time. Levi's is mostly done and he already likes to wear it around the house :) I think I did pretty good since even Miss Emma pointed at him and said "Batman!" when he had it on.

The card for today actually took me alot less time to make than the one I last shared. But I like it SO much better.
I really love how this one came out. It's full of distress inks, background stamps and butterflies :) The base is a Hero Arts note card in Pool, I think. I stamped the stripes in Tumbled Glass distress ink. I stamped the label with Wild Honey Distress ink and inked the edges. Oh, and the leafy- flourishes are in Walnut Stain distress ink.  I did the butterfly in Momento Tuxedo black so I could color it with my Copics. I LOVE this butterfly. And the coordinating die just makes me love it even more :)

Well, I hope your October is starting off well :) Leah had another golf test today, and she passed with ease :) Tomio was so proud :) Thanks for popping by!!

simple

Just a simple card I have to share today. This is one of those cards I make up when I want to make something, but nothing seems to be working. So I just took out some cardstock and some stampes, and started stamping...I used some of my faves of course--text background stamps and kraft cardstock ;)
I did the white embossed leaves before I stamped the background in versamark so the embossing powder wouldn't stick to the background too :) I heat embossed the sentiment too. Anyway, like I said--really simple.  Oh, all these stamps and carsdstock are from Papertrey Ink.
Ok, I'm off to TRY to go to bed. Tomio has been SO busy at work lately that he has been leaving BY 6. Which means I've been up at that time too... I couldn't stay up late when I was younger, much less now that I'm....well, you know :) Hope you have a restful day!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Blah...

Miss Emma has been saying so much more lately. And she has been working on calling each of us by name too. Daddy was of course one of the first words she actually said :) She's been calling me Mama, and Rhys was the first of her siblings' names she picked up on. Levi she decided to call "Cutie", since that is what we call him at least half of the time :) She'll even point to each of their clothes in the laundry and say "Rhys" or "Cutie" accordingly, and get it right. But, she never seemed to have a name for Leah. Even though she likes Leah and would go to her if you told her to"go see Leah". When Rhys was little, he called Leah "Ya-ya". When Levi was little he called her "Ee-a". But Emma, nothing. That is, until a few days ago.At first I wasn't sure if Emma was talking about Leah or not, but by the 3rd or 4th time she said it, I was sure. Emma has decided that Leah is...Blah. Yes, Blah. Leah was kind of bummed that Emma didn't have a name for her, but I don't think she's sure Blah is any better :) I think it is though: ) heehee :)
as I uploaded this picture to my blog Emma kept pointing and saying "Blah!Blah! " :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you're having a LOVELY day :)
