one layer.

I have another one layer card today. Really liking those lately.

This is one using, as have I mentioned before, possibly my all time favorite stamp set :) And I used kraft and dark brown :) It was actually really quick to make too, which is not often true about my one layer cards.

Thanks for stopping by again today! And a HUGE thank you to all of you who have been leaving me comments lately :) I really appreciate you taking the time :)

Hope you have an awesome day!!

simple roses

I'll be honest. When Papertrey first released the "Rosie Posie" set, I didn't really like it. It was one of those sets that just didn't appeal to me. So I knew I wouldn't get it....at least not yet. I know that I have a tendency to completely dislike a set at first, but then it will gradually grow on me until I just *know* I need to get it. And then it usually ends up being a big fave of mine. I'm sure you see where this is going, right? Yes,  I ended up getting it, and I am absolutely loving it :) It really can work for so many different styles.

This is what I made with it this time. I much softer look than I usually do with it, but I really like how it turned out. I used one of the pretty sentiments from Beautiful Butterlies, and added some gems. I wish Papertrey had a nice light pink, kind of like this color, but they don't. So, I used Chewing Gum Jenni Bowlin ink. Those are my next favorite inks after PTI inks.

Okay, that's it for me today :) Golden Week has officially started here, which means that Tomio is off from work and the kids are off from school. And it also means less stamping time for me. Hoping to squeeze in a little over the next few days though :)

Thanks SO much for stopping by! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop Challenge

Yes, I am definitely cutting it close. I actually made 3 cards for the challenge last night, but I really couldn't get any good photos till this morning. And then after I took them, I didn't like any of the cards I made....so, I made another one. While it took a lot less time to create than the ones I made last night, I like it much better :)

Anyway, here is the inspiration photo for this month:

Lots of fun patterns and colors. Right away I thought of Damask Designs and Rosie Posie. (Didn't everyone? lol)  Here is what I came up with:

I wanted to work in the polka dots too, but it just didn't go with what I was picturing. I used Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian shores inks. I added just a touch of dark chocolate to kind of ground it all.

And that's it :) I'd better wrap this up to I can link it up to the hop.

Thanks SO much for stopping by!!!

Bright.

Today's card is definitely bright and cheery :)

Not really a color combo I usually use, but I think it's kind of fun. I really like this sun image from Wplus9. So cheery in a nice yellow. And the oversized sentiment is fun too(it's from Papertrey).

Okay--extra short today. The kids had a fun day at the park today and now it's time to tuck them all into bed. Thank you SO much for stopping by today!! Hope you an amazing day!!

Shabby again.

I made a whole bunch of cards over the last couple weeks. Like 30. And most of them were of the CAS style that I have really been enjoying lately. So I thought well maybe I'd try something more layered or shabby again for a change....well, I failed. I ended up with one of those days where you sit at your desk wanting to make something, but nothing goes well at all. And now I haven't even managed to make anything for a few days now, sigh... maybe tomorrow?

So today's card is not from this week. I made it awhile ago, but somehow I seem to have missed sharing it.

I really like how it turned out. I layered some butterflies from Spellbinders. I embossed and inked the top one. The circle stamp is from Verve.  I stamped the background script in the same gray as the circle. I thought it had a nice look to it on the Autumn Rose cardstock. Finished off with black rhinestones. They are my current fave. Something about the black is striking.

Well, that's it for me today. I seem to be getting behind on my sleep lately and I need to start making up for it now. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a wonderful, restful weekend!!!

"Mama...

my piggies are dusty....because, ummm, my tummy hurts. yeah, so, my feets are dusty." This is what Emma told me when I put her to bed tonight :) She speaks really well, and is always very clear. In her mind I guess there was a connection. heehee. I love all the cute things she says, they certainly brighten my day :)

Anyway, here is a card.

I stamped the text at the bottom, then the flowers. I heat embossed the white ones. I liked the fine linen and white color combo, but I thought it needed a little pop. So, I colored some gems with red copics. Then I added the sentiment last. Oh, the text stamp is from Stampabilities, and all the others are from Papertrey.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Hope you have a great day :)

Another butterfly :)

I really liked this butterfly from Gina K. Designs :) And I have already established that one can never have too many butterflies.

I used the "rock and roll" technique on this card. I will admit that this is my first time to ever use this technique(!) But I like how it turned out :) And it was pretty easy too. The wood grain background is from Wplus9. It has a little bit different look than the woodgrain from PTI that I usually use.

A pretty simple card, but I had fun making it and liked the results :)

Thanks for stopping by today!! Hope your week is starting off great :)

Friday, April 13

A smooth day.

I like it when everything I have planned in a day goes smoothly :) Unfortunately, homeschooling with 4 kids isn't really something that goes the same each lol. But today everything went so well--school, catching the bus, swimming...And to top it off, the weather was my favorite spring-y warm kind of weather.

Anyway, here is a card I made a little bit ago. A different kind of color combo for me, but I think I like it.

The polka dots behind the butterfly are embossed with clear. I used the negative from the butterfly to make a little window. The cool newsprint stamp is from Impression Obsession. They have some of the coolest background stamps! This one and their music one are two of my current faves.

I added a sentiment on kraft with some foam dots to allow for the extra bulk of the brads.

And that's it for me today :) It's pretty late here, so I need to head off to bed.
Thank you SO much for stopping by!!

Layout time :)

It seemed about time I shared a layout :) I am a *very* slow scrappy in general. It can take me forever to finish a layout. But, I am proud to say, I finished this whole layout in one day. One afternoon, actually. And it's even a 2 pager!

I was really pleased with how it turned out. I used a 6x6 pad from SEI. Lots of pretty patterns.

I even stitched around   the sections of pattern paper-some straight, some zigzag.  I used several stamps and die cuts too.

And some journalling too. I stamped the butterfly from Clear Dollar stamps on pattern. The cardstock stickers are from Crate Paper.

And that's about it :) Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!!

Flowers.

How about a flower card?

This is a card I made when I first got this set and was just playing around with them. I can usually tell how much I'm going to enjoy using a set by how quickly things seem to come together when I first "play" with it. I can tell I will like this one a lot :)

I used gray for the stems and sentiment. I like how it gives a softer feel than black. The plaid background stamp is from Unity.

Thanks so much for stopping  by today!! The kids were playing with their cousins all day again today, which means I have to put things in order around the house now that we are back home :)

Friday, April 6

the next one.

Here is the next one of those many butterfly cards I mentioned :)

Still definitely CAS, but a totally different color palette. I really love the fonts in the sentiments of this set. So pretty :) Added a little bit of twine and it was done.

Extra short and sweet today for me. We were out all day, and there are several things that need to be cleaned, straightened and/or dealt with before bed. And we are visiting Tomio's Grandma in the hospital this weekend too, so I know we will be busy then too.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Hope you have a lovely day :)

Simple light.

Clean and simple "light" card today :)

I got the dies for this set too, but I went with paper piecing instead on this card. I stamped wood grain on the bottom and top  and then heat embossed it with clear.

Pretty subtle, but I like the detail it adds. And that's about it :) Oh, I really like this sentiment too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! It's SO windy here again today >_< I'm really hoping today is the  last day so we can start enjoy the spring weather :)

Monday, April 2

One of many :)

I mentioned my new favorite stamp set the other day, Beautiful Butterflies. Once I started using it on some cards, I couldn't stop. Leah passed by my desk and said "whoa, that's a lot of butterfly cards" heehee :) So here is one of the many cards I made.

I love how this set just lends itself to CAS cards. I also used three colors that I hardly ever used before. But I love how cheerful the butterflies look in bright happy colors.

I'm not a fast stamper, I'm afraid to say. But, this card really just came together in a few minutes. Love when that happens :)

Thanks SO much for stopping by today! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start.
