another...

Another not quite so CAS card. While I do like making CAS cards, sometimes it is still fun to pile it on a little :)

That's kind of what I did with this card. I stamped this newsprint in kraft ink on the pink cardstock for something a little different. The tree trunk stamp and is from Papertrey's Trendy Tree Tops set. I mixed a couple of different sentiments together and made it into a banner. I inked the edges for some defintion and popped it up on pop dots. And that's about it :)

Thanks for stopping by today!!I hope you are having a super week so far. At my house everyone is counting the days still Rhys-ter gets back :)

camp.

It's that time of year here--summer camp for my kiddos.  Levi is still too little to go, but both Leah and Rhys will go. Rhys's is this week and Leah's is next week. They are beyond excited and have a wonderful time :) I, on the other hand, am not nearly as excited :( Since I homeschool, I see them all day, everyday. Now of course, that does mean that, yes, every now and then I *do* need a break. But, when they are gone, goodness, I miss them!! So do their brothers and sisters too. I guess it's not a bad thing for them to realize how much they actually like each other though :)

Okay---on to today's card. This one I just sort of started stamping and playing and then it just slowly came together. I just kept trying out some of my faves. I haven't used the chevron stripes a lot yet, but I can tell already that I like them :) I love finding new stamps to make pretty backgrounds with. The butterflies are from Clear Dollar stamps. Oh, and the chevrons are from Papertrey. I debated where to get some, since so many companies have them now. In the end, I went with the Papertrey one because I thought it would be most versatile since I could switch around the patterns of different strips. Also makes it easy to add just a border, like I did in this card.

And that's it :) I stayed up way too late last night, and I am off to bed. Thank you SO much for stopping by!!

well...

I'll do it again. I have to apologize for the lack of posting again. I'm actually disappointed when I don't get to because I like posting. But apparently, this embassy-passport-citizenship situation is more taxing than I thought it would be. I don't if any of you have had to deal with all the paperwork involved with having kids overseas, but I'll tell ya, it's never straight forward. Unfortunately I don't see us being done with it any time soon, so I'm just trying to stop worrying about it for now...

Anyway, I thought I would post a layout :) Seemed like it had been awhile.

These pix are a couple of years old, but I thought they were cute :) And I'm not a chronological scrapper, so I just scrap whatever I'm in the mood for.  I liked how it turned out :) I hand drew and stitched the puff of smoke since I couldn't seem to find anything I had that awas just right. Added some machine stitching and staples, and that was about it.

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope your week is very uneventful and restful :)

love

Fun to have some love cards every now and then :) Though I do think it is probably the kind I make the least often.... (maybe I should change that?)

I did some clear heat embossing, and used a really pretty set of stamps from Verve. Love the pretty frame image :)

I really like doing clear embossing on black. I really like the sentiment too. Such a nice clean font.

Okay--super short again. We are headed to the embassy tomorrow to deal with citizenship issues for our kids and my head is spinning. (Just can't wait for it to be done!)

Thanks for stopping by!!

simple...

again :) not too surprising, I'm sure.Today was one of those days that we just seemed to take awhile to get started. (Ever have one of those days?) Anyway, seeing as we are still playing catch up on our day, this will be short and sweet today.

Some damask, polka dots and a butterfly :) I like the pop of black from the sentiment too.

Yeah, and that's all for me today. Thanks SO much for stopping by!! Hope you have an awesome day :)

not quite enough...

I don't know about you, but the weekend was just not quite long enough this week... Somehow I did seem to manage to get the "musts" done though. And strangely enough, while I could use a little more time to get stuff done, I don't mind getting started with a new week...

Anyway, enough rambling lol. Here is  very simple card for today:

I used on of my favorite texture plates from Sizzix and some pretty stamps froim Wplus9. I used PTI's Rustic cream and Gina K's dark chocolate cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today!! I'm off to get caught up on my sleep. 5:30 is just too early to get up....lol
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!

sunshine :)

We had a very chilly day here yesterday! Goodness, but now it seems to be back to sunny skies and warm weather today :) Spring is my favorite season, so I like to enjoy lots of "warm" days before it gets actually "hot" for summer.

Here's a sunshine-y card I made. (sorry for the awful lighting...) I thought it was cute to have the pearls be the sunshine. It took me awhile to decide where exactly to place the sentiments and to get it curved right. (that can be a little trickier than it seems...lol). Ended up with minimal stamping on this one.

Well, that's it for me today. I've got to work on the kids' school. Thanks SO much for stopping by!! Hope you have a very sunshine-y day!!
